Focal 100 ICW5

100 ICW5 2-way coaxial speaker Dedicated to residential use, the 100 ICW5 coaxial wall or ceiling speaker with its 13 cm driver stands out for its sound performance and discretion. Proven technology, discreet, efficient design, a host of features, easy, appropriate use: let the 100 Series surprise you and create the installation to suit your needs and desires. POLYVALENCE Flush-mountable in walls or ceilings from 8 to 35 mm thick, 100 ICW5 is perfect for sound diffusion in high-traffic areas (hallway, living room), for stereo use (bedroom, kitchen...) or in Home Cinema configuration (living room, dedicated installation). The tweeter level can be adjusted to match the acoustics of your room. MOISTURE RESISTANCE Thanks to the "tropicalization" of Polyglass midrange drivers, 100 Series products can be adapted to humid environments, such as bathrooms.   SIMPLICITY AND DISCRETION With its shallow mounting depth and optimized mounting brackets, the loudspeaker is quick and easy to install. The unibody frame and ready-to-paint magnetic grilles ensure discreet integration in any living space.           A NEW MUSICALITY IN YOUR HOME TECHNOLOGIES INVERTED DOME TWEETER Optimum space dispersion The inverted dome tweeter has been a Focal signature since 1981, offering the property of being a true micro-speaker. The curvature of the dome is much less pronounced than that of positive domes. This results in better space dispersion and very low directionality, unlike ribbon tweeters. The inverted dome tweeter therefore generates unrivalled dynamics, enabling sound engineers to precisely control the dosage of compression. The precision of the image (height, width and depth) is remarkable, making it easy to position each instrument. What's more, a waveguide has been developed to perfect spatialization and further enhance the inverted dome's very low directionality. In the horizontal plane, the frequency response is within +/- 0.5 dB. This performance guarantees an incredibly stable soundstage.       POLYGLASS MEMBRANE Well-defined mids The diaphragm, the key component of a loudspeaker, is at the heart of our acoustic engineers' research. Polyglass technology, exclusive to Focal, consists of applying fine glass microbeads to a cellulose pulp cone. This process reconciles the excellent damping of paper with the rigidity of glass. The stiffness index is almost 10 times that of polypropylene. Adjusting the mass-rigidity-damping ratio results in a remarkably linear frequency response curve, right from the membrane design stage. This innovation also significantly increases definition in the midrange register.         SPECIFICATIONS  Sound - Acoustics Product type Wall/Ceiling - 2 Coxial Ways Membrane Polyglass Medium 5" (13cm) Polyglass Midbass Response at - 6dB (Low frequency point) 56 Hz Frequency response (+/- 3dB) 65 Hz - 23 kHz Minimum impedance 7.3 Ω Nominal Impedance 8 Ω Recommened amplifier power 15 - 100 W Sensivity 88 dB Design Allowable ceiling thickness (min) 8 mm / 0.3125 in Allowable ceiling thickness (max) 35 mm / 1.56 in Depth behind surface (Mounting depth) 3.23 in / 3.23 in Cut-Out diameter 160 mm / 6 in Depth 87 mm / 3.42 in Accessories Black and white felt Black and white felt ready to stick Cut Out template Yes Grids Ready-to-paint grille
