Focal 100 IC6ST

100 IC6ST 2-way coaxial ceiling speaker Dedicated to residential installations, the IC6ST 100 ceiling speaker stands out for its sonic performance and compactness. Thanks to its double tweeter, it's ideal for stereo sound in small to medium-sized rooms (bedrooms, kitchens, hallways) or humid environments (bathrooms), thanks to its tropicalization process. All in all, a highly effective piece of equipment at this price level.                 PERFORMANCE The loudspeaker features a compact, directional tweeter and a Polyglass cone driver. A crossover facilitates off-axis listening and reduces the "shower effect".           HI-FI OR HOME CINEMA 100 IC6ST features a 3-position treble equalizer to match room acoustics. It can be connected to a single amplifier and used with conventional hi-fi systems for Home Cinema installation.             EASY INSTALLATION Simplicity of installation and design are key criteria: robust mounting brackets and magnetic grilles reduce installation time. The shallow depth of 100 Series products ensures discreet integration.                 TECHNOLOGIES INVERTED DOME TWEETER Optimum space dispersion The inverted dome tweeter has been a Focal signature since 1981, offering the property of being a true micro-speaker. The curvature of the dome is much less pronounced than that of positive domes. This results in better space dispersion and very low directionality, unlike ribbon tweeters. The inverted dome tweeter therefore generates unrivalled dynamics, enabling sound engineers to precisely control the dosage of compression. The precision of the image (height, width and depth) is remarkable, making it easy to position each instrument. What's more, a waveguide has been developed to perfect spatialization and further enhance the inverted dome's very low directionality. In the horizontal plane, the frequency response is within +/- 0.5 dB. This performance guarantees an incredibly stable soundstage.       POLYGLASS MEMBRANE Well-defined mids The diaphragm, the key component of a loudspeaker, is at the heart of our acoustic engineers' research. Polyglass technology, exclusive to Focal, consists of applying fine glass microbeads to a cellulose pulp cone. This process reconciles the excellent damping of paper with the rigidity of glass. The stiffness index is almost 10 times that of polypropylene. Adjusting the mass-rigidity-damping ratio results in a remarkably linear frequency response curve, right from the membrane design stage. This innovation also significantly increases definition in the midrange register.         SPECIFICATIONS Sound - Acoustics Product type Ceiling - 2 coxial stereo lanes Membrane Polyglass Medium 6.5" (16.5cm) Dual voice coil Polyglass Midbass Response at - 6dB (Low frequency point) 48 Hz Frequency response (+/- 3dB) 60 Hz - 23 kHz Minimum impedance 6.7 Ω Nominal Impedance 8 Ω Recommened amplifier power 25 - 100 W Sensivity 89 dB Design Allowable ceiling thickness (min) 8 mm / 0.3125 in Allowable ceiling thickness (max) 40 mm / 1.56 in Depth behind surface (Mounting depth) 3.56 in / 3.56 in Cut-Out diameter 184 mm / 7.25 in Depth 95 mm / 3.75 in Accessories Black and white felt Black and white felt ready to stick Cut Out template Yes Grids Ready-to-paint grille
