In the original 1900 L. Frank Baum’s novel “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz,” the Winged Monkeys are controlled by a “golden cap” possessed by the Wicked Witch of the West. But they are later freed from its power when Glinda, the Good Witch of the South, gives the cap to the Winged Monkeys themselves. Our flying monkey pin is based on a W. W.
