Florida dwarf, prickly pear

Florida Dwarf Prickly Pear (Opuntia humifusa) is a compact, low-maintenance native cactus that brings authentic Florida character to any succulent or cactus garden. Each listing includes one healthy pad, ready for rooting — simply let the cut end callous for a few days, then plant in well-draining soil and watch it take off. Native to Florida's sandy soils and sun-drenched landscapes, this hardy little cactus is drought-tolerant, cold-hardy, and virtually care-free once established. Come summer, it rewards patient growers with small, jewel-toned edible fruits that can be eaten fresh or used to make syrups and jellies. Perfect for: succulent collections, rock gardens, native plant landscapes, and beginner cactus growers.
