Florentine Gilt Tooled Trinket Box

A small hinged box in the Florentine style, finished in tooled gilt over wood. The lid holds a lattice of tiny stamped flowers inside beaded borders, and scrolling vines run along the sides. Years of handling have rubbed the gold back to green and russet at the edges, and the inside has a warm, mottled amber finish. A lovely home for rings, matches or small altar treasures. Dimensions: 5 1/8" L × 3 5/8" W × 1 3/4" H. Vintage, with honest wear: chips to the gilt at the corners, a small split in the wood beside the back hinge, and staining inside. One of a kind; you receive the exact piece pictured.
