Vetiver Root CO₂ Wax, extracted from the deep, fibrous roots of Vetiveria Zizanioides, is one of the most grounding and complex materials in the world of natural perfumery. Produced through supercritical CO₂ extraction, this exquisite wax captures the earthy, smoky, and woody essence of vetiver in its most complete and luxurious form — rich, creamy, and powerfully aromatic. Unlike distilled essential oil, which focuses on volatile components, the CO₂ extraction process retains the full aromatic spectrum along with non-volatile waxes, resins, and fatty compounds, resulting in a semi-solid, dark brown wax that combines fragrance, function, and depth. Used in fine natural perfumery, aromatherapy, and holistic skincare, Vetiver CO₂ Wax is a material of profound grounding energy — a scent that embodies earth, endurance, and quiet strength. Extraction Vetiveria Zizanioides — known as Khus in India and Vetiver in the West — grows in the tropical soils of India, Haiti, Java, and Reunion. Its long, tangled roots penetrate deep into the earth, drawing from its mineral richness and moisture. Through supercritical CO₂ extraction, these dried roots are gently processed with pressurized carbon dioxide at low temperatures, allowing both aromatic terpenes and lipid-soluble compounds to be extracted without the use of heat or chemical solvents. The result is a semi-solid wax with an earthy, smoky, and woody aroma that is truer to the living plant than distilled vetiver oil. The process captures the plant’s natural resins and wax esters, making this material exceptionally smooth, potent, and long-lasting. Vetiver CO₂ Wax is completely pure, solvent-free, and biodegradable, ideal for formulations that value authenticity and sustainability. Aromatic Profile The scent of Vetiver Root CO₂ Wax is deep, smoky, earthy, and sweetly woody, with a smooth resinous body and gentle green undertones. It opens with dry soil and smoky notes, evolves into a sweet, balsamic heart, and finishes with an amber-like, leathery base that lingers for hours. Its complexity and longevity make it one of perfumery’s most revered base notes. In natural perfumery, Vetiver CO₂ Wax serves as a base and fixative, adding depth and endurance to blends. It harmonizes beautifully with: - Woody notes: cedarwood, sandalwood, amyris. - Resins: frankincense, myrrh, benzoin, labdanum. - Florals: rose, jasmine, ylang-ylang. - Citrus oils: bergamot, grapefruit, lime. - Spices: clove, cardamom, black pepper. It enhances Chypres, oriental, and woody compositions, and in solid perfumes, it lends both scent and structure. The aroma conveys stability, sensuality, and timeless sophistication. Cosmetic and Skincare Benefits Beyond its rich aroma, Vetiver CO₂ Wax offers powerful skin benefits due to its content of natural fatty acids, phytosterols, and antioxidants. These compounds make it deeply nourishing and restorative for the skin. Sustainability and Purity The supercritical CO₂ extraction method is one of the most sustainable extraction technologies available. It uses recycled carbon dioxide in a closed-loop system, eliminating the need for chemical solvents and preserving the plant’s integrity. The vetiver roots used for this wax are ethically sourced from smallholder farms in India and Indonesia that practice soil conservation and fair-trade harvesting. - Each batch of Vetiver Root CO₂ Wax is laboratory-tested to ensure: - Purity (no solvent residues or contaminants). - Consistency in aroma, color, and texture. - Compliance with IFRA, REACH, and cosmetic-grade standards. It is vegan, cruelty-free, and biodegradable, perfectly suited for eco-luxury skincare and perfumery.
