Floral Log Cabin

This Floral Log Cabin offers a central, yet expansive gaze as the diamonds get bigger. The contrast of yellow and darker red and blue fabrics create a crisp differential aspect of the diamonds. The floral and small details on the fabrics gives the quilt an added dimension. The border of this Log Cabin consists of flowers that match the colors across the top of the quilt creating a cohesive look and palette. This queen-sized quilt is finalized with a yellow backing with additional tiny floral details. ABOUT THIS PATTERN Log Cabin quilts date back to when Abraham Lincoln was running for office. Because women could not vote, they made log cabin quilts to show their support for him as he lived in a log cabin. During the era of the Underground Railroad, a log cabin quilt hanging in the window of a Northern home indicated a safe house. The contrast of the light and dark fabrics represents the joys and sorrows in life. Additionally, the center of the design is the fireplace found in a log cabin home. SIZE Queen Size — 100 inches wide x 118 inches long Sized at 104″ x 116″, this quilt provides approximately 22 inches of drop on each side of a standard queen mattress, generous coverage at the foot of the bed, and ample room for a comfortable pillow tuck—eliminating the need for coordinating shams.
