Flexible Stain Applicator

Flexible Stain Applicator Achieving a truly professional-quality finish on your exterior wood is simplified with the right tools. The  Flexible Stain Applicator is meticulously engineered to solve the biggest challenges in DIY wood staining, particularly for decks, fences, and vertical siding. It provides superior control, unmatched speed, and a flawless application quality that traditional brushes and pads simply can't match. The Innovation: Proprietary FlexTech Pad The core of this revolutionary tool is its Proprietary FlexTech Pad. This material is a special hygroscopic, tear-resistant foam engineered to function far better than conventional stain pads. Its advanced design allows the pad to hold and release significantly more stain, letting you cover a larger area in less time while guaranteeing a uniform, rich finish without the frustrating patchiness. Engineered for Superior Application The applicator head itself is designed with flexibility in mind. It can easily conform to uneven surfaces, guaranteeing that the stain is perfectly worked into every valley, knot, and crevice of the wood grain. This flexibility is key to preventing missed spots and unsightly lap marks, which are common pitfalls on older or textured lumber. Its lightweight design and superior stain retention make it the ideal tool for challenging vertical surfaces like fences. By holding more product and allowing for better control, the applicator dramatically minimizes drips and ensures consistent, beautiful coverage from the very top to the bottom edge. Maximizing Efficiency with an Extension Pole While the applicator is perfect for handheld use, it is specifically designed to fit a standard threaded extension pole (sold separately). This capability transforms the way you approach large-scale projects like deck floors and tall fences. Ergonomics and Speed: Attaching the pole eliminates the need to bend or work on your hands and knees, saving your back and knees considerable strain. This dramatically increases your working speed, allowing you to cover hundreds of square feet in a fraction of the time. Safety and Reach: The pole provides the reach necessary for high fences, railings, and large deck surfaces, ensuring you maintain consistent, even pressure across the entire project without using a ladder. This not only improves safety but guarantees a uniform application of your stain. The Critical Role of Surface Preparation The best stain applicator performs its best when the wood surface is properly prepared. Before picking up the Sun Frog Flexible Stain Applicator, it is essential to use the companion Sun Frog cleaning products. Sun Frog Deck Cleaner and Outdoor Cleaner work to lift dirt, grime, and mildew, ensuring the wood is clean and ready to accept the stain deeply. For weathered or gray wood, applying Sun Frog Wood Brightener helps restore the wood's natural color and opens up the pores. This crucial preparation step, combined with the FlexTech pad, ensures the deep penetration and long-lasting protection that Sun Frog sealers are known for. By using the system—cleaners, brighteners, and the Flexible Stain Applicator—you guarantee optimal adhesion and a stunning, enduring finish. The included package provides the applicator tool plus one replacement pad (two pads total), so you're ready to tackle your project right out of the box.
