Flexcut 1.5mm Micro Sweep

The Flexcut is a fixed handle micro tool with  1.5mm wide from wing to wing.  The Flexcut sweep features a flexible spring steel shank that conforms to the contours of your projects surface to give you maximum control over every cut.  This unique Flexcut sweep knife is designed for the lowest resistance cut possible. The sweep end offers a guillotine-like slicing action allowing smooth, against the grain cuts in awkward positions, which is great for making detailed cuts that are very narrow. Your Flexcut Skew Micro Tools are pre-sharpened at the factory to a highly polished razor's edge. This creates an efficient, long-lasting cutting tool. The more polished the edge, the sharper it is and the longer it will stay sharp. Keeping your tools sharp requires some routine maintenance.  We recommend using a strop and polishing compound. The Flexcut MT19 Micro Skew is made in the USA with outstanding quality craftsmanship for reliable cuts and supreme accuracy. Tool MaintenanceHaving a sharp edge on your carving tool is essential to achieving top-notch results in your carving projects. Not only does it make carving more efficient and easier, but it also prolongs the lifespan of your tools without the need for constant resharpening.Keep in mind that the ideal angle for sharpening your gouge is 15°, which is typically the same angle it's pre-sharpened at. With these tips in mind, you'll be able to keep your carving tools in top condition and enjoy a smoother, more efficient carving experience. As you're deep in the world of carving, it's easy to get lost in the beauty of the wood and the creation happening before your eyes. However, it's important not to forget about the crucial carving accessories, books and safety supplies that are just as important as the wood and tools themselves. An apron is essential to catch all of the chips of wood flying around, while a tool roll will keep your tools clean and in good condition. But perhaps the most important accessory is carving gloves, finger and thumb guards, which will help keep your hands safe while you're working with sharp tools. So next time you're ready to dive into a carving project, remember to take all of these essential items into account and prioritize safety above all else.
