Fleck 2900S NXT2 Downflow Softener Control Valve, Less Meter

The Fleck 2900S with NXT2 control pairs a heavy-duty, high-flow commercial softener valve with Fleck's most advanced electronic controller. The lead-free brass 2900S body runs two hydraulically-balanced pistons and moves up to 106 GPM, while the NXT2 controller brings a scrolling OLED display, capacitive-touch programming, real-time diagnostics, and networking for multi-valve systems. This unit is configured as a downflow softener, Less Meter — so it regenerates on a time-clock schedule out of the box and is fully meter-ready whenever you want on-demand regeneration. It ships with a hardwater bypass, 1700 brine valve, #6 injector, 2.0 GPM brine flow control, environmental cover, communication cable, and a parts kit with manual — Less Drain Line Flow Control (DLFC) so you can match the drain to your tank. Meter-Ready Flexibility Ships Less Meter and runs on a time-clock schedule out of the box; add the NXT2 electronic meter and cable to switch to true on-demand regeneration whenever you're ready. Real-Time Diagnostics Live flow rate, peak-flow tracking, and a totalizer, plus up to 13 weeks of daily water-use history and an error log — powerful tools for tuning and troubleshooting. Networkable Valves The included communication cable lets you link 2–8 NXT2 valves over CAT5 for twin, triplex, or larger alternating and parallel systems. Heavy-Duty Brass Body The lead-free brass 2900S body and dual hydraulically-balanced pistons handle up to 106 GPM and years of continuous commercial duty that plastic valves can't match. Backup & Aux Control A super-capacitor keeps time-of-day through a 12-hour power loss, and the lower-drive AUX switch drives a programmable relay for chemical feeders, alarms, or interlocks. INSTALLATION & USE Getting Set Up Mount the valve onto your 2900S-compatible mineral tank over the distributor/riser tube, making sure the riser is cut flush, chamfered, and centered so it seats cleanly. Select and install the correct Drain Line Flow Control button for your tank diameter (sold separately) — this sets the backwash rate that lifts and cleans the resin bed. Connect the 2" inlet and outlet plumbing, the 1" drain line, and the 1/2" brine line to the 1700 brine system. Connect the 24V DC U.S. power supply and program the NXT2: set time of day, hardness, and cycle times. As shipped it regenerates on a time schedule — add the electronic meter and cable later to run on demand. COMPATIBILITY & APPLICATIONS Where This Valve Fits This 2900S/NXT2 combination is built for high-demand softening on mineral tanks up to 36" in diameter — large homes, apartment and commercial buildings, restaurants, car washes, and light-industrial process water. As shipped (Less Meter) it regenerates on a time-clock schedule, so size the day setting to your hardness and demand; add the NXT2 electronic meter and cable to convert to metered, on-demand regeneration and cut salt and water use. Because the included communication cable supports networking 2–8 valves, this control is equally at home in a single-tank system or as part of a twin/triplex alternating setup. This unit ships Less Drain Line Flow Control, so add the DLFC button matched to your tank, and confirm your supply falls within the valve's 20–125 psi and 34–110°F ranges before installation. 💧Pro Tip: Ordered Less Meter, this valve runs on a time clock today and upgrades to demand-based regeneration the moment you add the NXT2 meter and cable — no valve swap needed. And with the comm cable already included, two of these can be networked into an alternating twin system for continuous soft water down the road.
