Learning to knit is exciting and rewarding, but mistakes can be a little stressful at first! In this class, we'll address common beginner mistakes, and teach students how to confidently fix these mistakes on their own. In this class students will learn how to: Pick up dropped stitches in both garter stitch and stockinette stitch. Change knits to purls and vise versa. Rip back several rows and get the stitches back on your needles, and how to add a lifeline. Identify and fix twisted stitches. Tighten loose stitches. Ages 17+ Skill Level: Students should already have basic beginner knitting skills (cast on, knit, purl, and bind off). Class prep: A knitted swatch will need to be made prior it class (your instructor will send you an email with more details). Your swatch will consist of 30 stitches (15 in garter and 15 in stockinette). It will be 6" high, knit with worsted weight yarn on size US 8/5mm needles. Materials (not included, but all classroom materials purchased at Sew To Speak receive a 15% discount): Yarn: You are welcome to use left over yarn from your stash, but if purchasing yarn from Sew To Speak, we recommend Quince & Co Osprey.
