Imperial Five Clawed Dragon 7 Inch 3D Wood Relief, Chinese Dragon Wall Art

I created this Five-Clawed Dragon relief for someone who wants a dragon piece with meaning, not just motion and detail. The coiled body, sharp claws, cloud forms, and strong face give the carving a feeling of power, control, and presence. In Chinese imperial tradition, the five-clawed dragon was closely connected with the emperor and was understood as a symbol of authority, strength, and command over natural forces. It is different from a general dragon image because the five claws carry a more specific imperial meaning. The piece starts as solid beech wood and is CNC-carved to shape the dragon’s body, claws, scales, face, clouds, and layered relief. After carving, I hand-sand the surface and edges, then add laser detail to sharpen the smaller lines in the scales, whiskers, and facial features. A shellac finish gives the wood a warm natural tone and helps protect the surface. This 7" x 7" x 0.5" carved wall art can be displayed in an office, study, entryway, shelf display, or personal collection where powerful symbols and detailed craftsmanship stand out. Personalization is available on the back of the piece. Text only. Add a name, date, short message, family note, milestone, memorial message, or meaningful phrase.
