Fitzroy's

Fitzroy's is Zoka Coffee Company's beloved gateway to dark roasts—lighter than most in the category, smooth enough to win over skeptics, and complex enough to keep daily drinkers coming back. This Central and South American blend has been a Seattle staple since Zoka's early days, delivering milk chocolate sweetness and warm molasses depth without a trace of bitterness. It's the kind of coffee that disappears from the bag faster than you expect. Tasting NotesFitzroy's opens with rich milk chocolate on the palate, backed by the gentle sweetness of molasses and a hint of caramel. The body is medium and velvety, coating the mouth without heaviness. Acidity is mellow and balanced, never sharp, allowing the roast's natural sugars to shine through. The finish is clean and subtly sweet, inviting the next sip before you've set the cup down. This is approachable dark roasting done right—developed for depth, not char. Brew MethodsFitzroy's is remarkably versatile. It pulls beautifully as espresso, producing thick crema and chocolatey sweetness that holds up in milk drinks without overwhelming them. For drip or pour over, it yields a clean, full-flavored cup that's satisfying black or with cream. French press brings out its body and molasses notes, while cold brew is where Fitzroy's truly excels—the extended steep amplifies its natural sweetness and creates a concentrate that's smooth, low-acid, and dangerously drinkable straight or diluted.
