Fire Obsidian

Not available for website sales Fire Obsidian is a rare variety of volcanic glass known for the brilliant layers of rainbow-colored “fire” that appear beneath its surface. Found in Glass Butte, Eastern Oregon, its incredible flash can resemble stained glass or Ammolite, revealing new colors and patterns as the stone moves in the light. Like other forms of Obsidian, it carries a strong energy of truth, grounding, protection, and self-discovery, but Fire Obsidian brings an additional emphasis on transformation and transmutation. Fire Obsidian encourages you to look beneath the surface and confront what is ready to change. It can illuminate old patterns, beliefs, emotions, and versions of yourself that you may have outgrown. Rather than simply releasing these experiences, its fiery energy helps transmute them into wisdom, strength, and personal growth. It is a powerful stone for periods when you are being called to make significant changes but may not yet be able to see who you will become on the other side. It can help you shed the shell of your former self, moving beyond limitations and identities that no longer reflect who you are. Fire Obsidian reminds us that transformation can create something entirely new—something we may not have been capable of imagining from where we began. It encourages the courage to move through this process and step into a new expression of yourself. Fire Obsidian is also a grounding and protective stone, helping provide stability while doing deeper emotional or spiritual work. It can be especially useful for shadow work, self-reflection, major life transitions, and personal reinvention, helping bring hidden things into awareness so they can be acknowledged, understood, and ultimately transformed.
