Fire & Light-Jacques Philippe

Fire and Light Learning to Receive the Gift of God is a book containing a collection of articles and lectures written and given by Fr. Jacques Philippe which are linked by his examination into key areas of spiritual growth. In the articles and lectures he develops themes on "prayer, freedom, Holy Eucharist and man's constant struggle for contentment amid the stresses of everyday life". The theme can also be expressed as "that of accepting the gifts of God, of learning to experience and live in the grace of God". As examples of that grace, Fr. Philippe uses stories about and quotes from numerous people and saints including Etty Hillesum, Therese of Lisieux, Teresa of Avila, Faustina Kowalska, John of the Cross, Pope France, the Desert Fathers and others. Looking at their stories he discusses questions like "Why look for inner peace? Knowing God through Mary Touching God through Prayer The theological virtues and the Eucharist". Fr. Philippe regularly preaches in France and other places abroad and is renowned for his books on spirituality. Fire and Light Fr. Jacques Philippe Paperback
