Unlike ordinary outdoor lanterns, the Tempest Lantern features a patented flame design housed within a traditional four-sided glass enclosure. Inside, a vivid spiral of fire dances continuously, delivering real-flame ambiance that feels warm, inviting, and undeniably striking. Fueled by natural gas or propane, the Tempest Lantern allows you to choose the level of flame presence that best fits your space—whether you’re creating subtle pathway lighting or a bold statement feature. Available Models Tempest Lantern – 20,000 BTU Tempest Torch – 20,000 BTU Tempest Lantern – 50,000 BTU (approximately 40% more flame intensity) With programmable timers and smart-home compatibility, the Tempest Lantern integrates seamlessly into modern outdoor environments—giving you effortless control over your lighting and ambiance. The Science Behind the Dancing Flame The Tempest Lantern’s swirling flame is inspired by the same airflow principles that create tornadoes. As the flame heats the air inside the lantern, cooler air is drawn inward. When these air currents meet, they rotate around one another—producing the signature, hypnotic spiral flame that sets the Tempest Lantern apart. Versatile Mounting Options Designed for maximum flexibility, the Tempest Lantern can be installed using four different mounting configurations: Ground Post Deck Post Pillar Mount Wall Mount Power with the Tempest Transformer The Tempest Transformer (sold separately) is required to operate the electronic ignition system. A single transformer can power up to six Tempest Lanterns or Torches, making it easy to create a cohesive and dramatic fire lighting display. Built for All-Weather Performance Engineered for year-round outdoor use, the Tempest Lantern features four sides of heat-tempered glass tested to withstand extreme heat, freezing temperatures, and harsh weather without shattering. The all-weather 24V AC Hot Shot electronic ignition system is among the most reliable in the industry and includes an automatic gas shut-off for added safety if the flame is ever extinguished. Elegant, powerful, and built to perform in any season, the Tempest Lantern turns outdoor lighting into a captivating fire feature.
