The cooling effect of this filter requires a 2-stop increase in exposure for normal results. Filter factor of 4 requires a 2-stop increase in exposure. Eliminates overly bright, washed-out images, balances exposure and controls depth-of-field.  ND 9 filter- This filter reduces the light coming into the camera by 3 stops. ND 6 filter- This filter reduces the light coming into the camera by 2 stops. ND3 filter- This filter reduces the light coming into the camera by 1 stop.
