Filippo Sorcinelli LAVS Extrait de Parfum 100 ml

THE INCENSE OF INCENSES Before there was a collection, there was LAVS. The first fragrance ever created by Filippo Sorcinelli — the visionary Italian artist, musician, and sacred vestment designer whose atelier in Bologna has dressed some of the most important figures of the Catholic Church — LAVS remains to this day the best-selling and most celebrated fragrance in the entire collection. Not a coincidence. A consecration. Born from the smells of the Atelier of Vesti Sacre — the sacred workshop where Sorcinelli crafts liturgical vestments renowned worldwide — LAVS is the olfactory soul of that sacred space: incense, resins, the warmth of ancient woods, and the quiet spirituality of a place where art and faith meet every single day. It is a fragrance that does not just smell extraordinary. It transports you somewhere profound. To wear LAVS is to enter that atelier. To breathe its air. To understand, in a single spray, why Filippo Sorcinelli is one of the most singular and revered figures in contemporary niche perfumery. THE SCENT Top Notes — Black Pepper · Cardamom · Jasmine The opening is immediately arresting — bold, spicy, and slightly sacred. Black pepper crackles with a sharp, vibrant heat that signals something extraordinary is coming. Cardamom adds a warm, aromatic spice alongside it — exotic, slightly sweet, and deeply meditative. Jasmine introduces a rich, honeyed floral warmth that softens the spice with elegance, hinting at the complexity of what unfolds in the heart. An opening that commands attention from the very first spray. Heart Notes — Elemi · Labdanum · Cloves · Coriander The heart is where LAVS reveals its true, magnificent soul — a sacred smoke rising from ancient censers. Elemi — a rare citrusy-piney resin closely related to frankincense — adds a slightly luminous, almost ethereal quality. Labdanum brings its characteristic warm, honeyed amber depth — one of perfumery's most ancient and treasured ingredients, used in sacred rituals for millennia. Cloves add a deep, warm spice that is both culinary and medicinal. Coriander introduces a slightly green, herbal freshness that keeps the resinous heart alive and evolving. Sacred, complex, and deeply moving. Base Notes — Opoponax · Oak Moss · Rosewood · Amber · Tonka Bean The dry-down is a masterclass in warm, resinous elegance. Opoponax — known as "sweet myrrh" — unfolds with a balsamic, slightly vanilla-like sweetness that is ancient and deeply comforting. Oak moss adds a cool, earthy greenness that grounds the sweetness with a slightly dark, forest-floor depth. Rosewood brings a creamy, slightly floral woodiness. Amber and tonka bean complete the composition with a warm, golden, caramelized richness that lingers on skin for hours — a trail that is sacred, sensual, and impossible to forget.
