Handcrafted Mid-Century Console Table

This locally made console table is all about Figured Maple: a pale, lively wood whose rippled grain shifts as you walk past. Handcrafted rather than factory-flat, it has the clean, narrow proportions of a mid-century hall piece without feeling precious. The color stays warm and natural, which is why it reads as a real find instead of a blank box against the wall. The structure is solid wood, finished so the Figured Maple figure stays visible across the top. At 36 inches wide, 11 inches deep, and 31 inches high, it holds a lamp, mail, and a small stack of books without jutting into a hallway. Condition is excellent: edges are even, the surface is smooth, and the handcrafted construction still sits square and steady. It belongs in an entry, behind a sofa, or under a mirror beside the dining table. Style it with a ceramic lamp, a glass vase, and one saturated object in rust or teal so the wood can breathe. Among vintage console tables Portland, this is the slim, honest one you can actually use every day. Note: lifestyle images may be AI-generated.
