Fight for the Quantum

Fight for the Quantum: Essays on Spirituality and Science is a provocative and playful exploration of the philosophical battleground where science and spirituality collide. Rather than offering definitive answers, LaCasse invites readers into a lively polemic that dances through the “hard problem” of consciousness—the question of why physical states give rise to subjective experience. The book draws inspiration from thinkers like Richard Dawkins, David Berlinski, Deepak Chopra, Rupert Sheldrake, and the Dalai Lama, weaving their ideas into a tapestry of intellectual tension and metaphysical wonder. LaCasse doesn’t shy away from irreverence or humor, often poking at the solemnity of academic discourse with a wink. He acknowledges the obscurity of the issues at hand, embracing the ambiguity with a style that is both engaging and unorthodox. Rather than presenting a linear argument, the essays wander through various contexts—philosophical, scientific, spiritual—making quantum leaps between perspectives. The Dalai Lama’s classification of phenomena as evident, hidden, or extremely hidden becomes a thematic anchor, guiding the reader through layers of inquiry and paradox. Ultimately, Fight for the Quantum is less a manifesto and more a mirror, reflecting the folly and brilliance of the human condition. It’s a book for the curious, the skeptical, and the seekers—those willing to wrestle with mystery and laugh at the absurdity of it all. As Sheldrake noted, LaCasse’s style is “lively and engaging,” even if it occasionally needs tidying. But that’s part of the charm—it’s a quantum romp through the unknown. by John LaCasse Page Count: 169 Trim Size: 6 x 9 Publish Date: February 13, 2026 Imprint: Sunbury Press Genre: Science / Spirituality SCIENCE/Physics/Quantum Theory PHILOSOPHY/Metaphysics PHILOSOPHY/Movements/Phenomenology
