Ficus Elastica cv. 'Asahi' (wk38-U81)

Ficus elastica ‘Asahi’ is a rare, cultivated selection of the classic rubber plant, known for its striking, elongated leaves and bold variegation. Emerging foliage displays soft pink tones across both upper and lower surfaces, which gradually transition into deep green with a broad, creamy-white or pale yellow midrib. The leaves are thick, glossy, and slightly leathery, with a pointed tip and gently arching shape that creates a sculptural, upright presence. Mature leaves retain their bold variegation while the deep green background provides a rich contrast, emphasizing the dramatic midrib and giving each leaf a unique, eye-catching appearance. The name “Asahi” comes from Japanese, meaning “morning sun,” inspired by the soft pink new leaves. This cultivar thrives in bright, indirect light with warm, humid conditions and well-draining soil.  Exact Plant Info:  Pot Size: 3.5" x 3.5" Soil Media: RPF Soil Mix Height: 11" with pot Longest Leaf Length:  4"
