A: The Ferris 5020785 is a deck roller — also called an anti-scalp roller or gauge roller — that mounts to the underside of the CADCO mower deck. It contacts the ground on uneven terrain to prevent the cutting deck from dipping too low and scalping the lawn or striking obstructions. Q: Is part number 5020785 a genuine Ferris OEM roller? A: Yes. The 5020785 is a genuine OEM Ferris part manufactured to original factory specifications. Using an authentic Ferris deck roller ensures proper fit, correct deck clearance, and the durability expected from commercial-grade equipment. Q: How do I know if Ferris part 5020785 fits my mower? A: To confirm the 5020785 CADCO roller fits your specific Ferris mower, locate your machine's model number and serial number from the frame decal, then cross-reference with the Ferris parts diagram for your deck assembly. You can also contact our support team with your model info for fitment confirmation. Q: When should I replace the anti-scalp roller on my Ferris CADCO deck? A: Replace the Ferris 5020785 deck roller when you notice the roller no longer spins freely, shows visible cracking or flat spots, or when the bearing feels rough or seized. A worn roller fails to protect the deck from scalping and can lead to uneven cuts or deck damage over time.
