Fernspray Hinoki False Cypress

Evergreens are the backbones of the garden. They "hold the fort down" with their steady foliage display no matter the weather or season. Unfortunately, the downside to being such a stalwart in the garden is that it's easy to overlook the graceful beauty of evergreens. Until now! The Jade Waves® Fernspray False Cypress (Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Filicoides') refuses to fall by the wayside and become a wallflower! This striking evergreen is relatively unheard of in American gardens, but that will soon change! These shrubs grow into a small tree form in a loose, fluffy pyramid shape without any pruning required. The limbs are gently curved and covered in enchanting foliage that looks almost like a Fern gone rogue. You can't help but want to reach out and touch it. (Trust us on this. You'll see!) Hardy and adaptable throughout USDA planting zones 4 to 8, Hinoki False Cypress are easy to grow due to their low-maintenance growth! Pest and disease-resistant too, you'll love the curious texture Fernspray will display year-round in your landscape. Landscape Application: Gorgeous specimens, and dramatic hedges when used in rows or groupings, the shape and form of this unique evergreen will stand out and turn heads! A must-have specimen and anchor for your landscape, these 8 - 12 foot tall shrubby trees are ideal for softening corners of your home, and outbuildings, or as sentries to mark either side of a pathway entrance or your front entry! Fernspray makes a great backdrop behind the border, you'll want it to be growing closer so that you and your garden guests can see the gorgeous foliage up close. Try a pair flanking a doorway or defining the entry path to your own secret garden. It is perfect in an Asian-inspired garden, but it also looks fantastic in a contemporary setting or even a woodland garden. Growing just 3-4 feet wide at maturity, any sized garden can enjoy these showy evergreens! Even large container gardens and planters if you are a balcony gardener! Showy, Fern-Like Foliage Triangular Sprays & Branches No Fade Evergreen Color All Year Round Perfect for Asian or Contemporary Gardens Great for Hedges, Screens & Borders #ProPlantTips for Care: False Cypress do best in full sun for the best color and need well-drained soil locations that are slightly acidic. These evergreens also do best with regular moisture access and a mulched garden bed. Rarely needing pruning, give yours a trim in the spring if needed, and remove any winter dieback. Full Sun Moderate Moisture Needs & Any Well-Drained Soil Location Prune In Spring Low Maintenance Deer Resistant Pictures really don't do this evergreen justice. You'll want to order one to see for yourself. And then you'll want a couple once you see them! Be the trendsetter in your neighborhood with Fernspray Hinoki False Cypress. You'll be glad you did!
