Heart Love Fern 'Kangaroo Foot'

Heart Love Fern (Hemionitis arifolia), also known as Heartleaf Fern, is a delicate and charming houseplant with small, glossy, heart-shaped leaves that emerge from slender, dark stems. This compact fern thrives in humid environments, making it a perfect choice for terrariums or bathrooms. Care Guide: Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy. Water when the top inch of soil starts to dry out, using filtered or distilled water to prevent mineral buildup. Avoid letting the soil dry out completely, as ferns are sensitive to drought. Light: Prefers bright, indirect light but can tolerate lower light conditions. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch its delicate leaves. Temperature: Thrives in warm temperatures between 60-80°F (16-27°C). Keep away from cold drafts, heaters, and air conditioning vents to prevent stress. Soil Mix: Requires a well-draining yet moisture-retentive soil mix. A combination of peat moss, orchid bark, and perlite works well to maintain the right balance of aeration and moisture. Humidity: Loves high humidity levels of 60% or higher. If indoor air is dry, place a humidifier nearby, mist the plant regularly, or keep it in a naturally humid environment like a bathroom or terrarium. Fertilizer: Feed with a diluted balanced liquid fertilizer once a month during the growing season (spring and summer). Avoid over-fertilizing, as ferns are sensitive to excess nutrients. Toxicity: Non-toxic to pets and humans, making it a safe choice for households with cats, dogs, and children. With proper care, Heart Love Fern will reward you with lush, heart-shaped foliage, bringing a soft, tropical charm to your indoor space.
