Feather & Fan Stitch Sweater Knitting Pattern

The Feather & Fan Stitch Sweater pattern, by Genniewren Designs, definitely has a 70s vibe. The lean styling and tunic length were synonymous with the comfortable casual look of the era, and the bonus Juliet cap is another 70s classic. The main body of the sweater is knitted in a feather and fan stitch which creates a scalloped edge and a light and lacy texture. The yoke and sleeve tops are knitted in a broken rib pattern which provides further textural interest. The sweater fastens with two buttons at the front yoke and sports a garter stitch collar and button/buttonhole bands. This sweater is ideal for school, for work or for relaxed weekend wear, and looks great with jeans, flared pants, tailored pants or with an A-line maxi skirt to complete the perfect 70s look. Imagine this sweater knitted in orange and brown shades for fall, or in bright yellow, green or pink for spring. Too cute to wear under a coat, this tunic-style sweater and matching hat will be a great addition to your doll’s wardrobe.  This PDF knitting pattern is designed to fit 18" dolls such as American Girl®.
