Fauna Marina

Fauna Marina Juan Antonio Guirado (1932–2010) 1988 Oil on paper 52 x 65 cm / 20 1/2 x 25 2/3 in Catalog number: JAG/P 283 – INTRA STLF 10 Provenance: Guirado Estate Collection Location of artwork: USA / UK (please enquire) Framing: Unframed Price: $12,500 USD Description In Fauna Marina, Guirado turns his attention to the natural world, capturing the fragility and transformation of marine life through a richly textured surface. While rooted in still life, the work transcends traditional genre, presenting an environment that feels both organic and unsettled — a reflection on the delicate balance between nature and human impact. Created in 1988 and later included in Re Birth – The Third Eye (Fundación PONS, Madrid, 2015), the painting anticipates contemporary concerns surrounding ecological change. Its layered composition and atmospheric depth make it both visually compelling and conceptually relevant.
