The waistband and rise are worked with 2 cakes, alternating them each round to achieve more even striping throughout. After the ribbed waistband, German short rows are worked for a slightly higher back. The rise is worked in stockinette, first even, then increasing down the center front and back for hips. Modified Three-needle Bind Off technique is used to bind off stitches for the crotch. Legs are divided, each worked with a separate cake, shaped with decreases to taper down to the ankles. Cuffs are finished with 2x2 rib.
