Familiar Strangers

A wall of portraits becomes a collection of stories waiting to be discovered in Familiar Strangers, a whimsical 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle illustrated by Janet Hill. Fourteen framed characters gaze out from their frames, each one hinting at a life beyond the canvas and a narrative just out of reach. Some subjects pose alongside beloved companions—a cat, a bird, butterflies, an alligator, even a bejeweled turtle—while others hide behind masks or suggest secrets of time travel. Whether set outdoors, in a studio, or at home, these portraits blur the line between stranger and acquaintance, rewarding close looking with playful and mysterious details. Perfect for fans of Janet Hill, portrait art, and imaginative storytelling. Pair this with Strange Dreams, Hares to the Throne, for more satisfying collage portraits.
