Falls To Pieces (Colored LP)

PRESSED ON CLEAR VINYL Elegant and effortless, dreamy and dusty. Falls To Pieces is a natural progression emerging from the organic textures explored on Pat Van Dyke’s stellar 2018 LP Hello, Summer–which received heavy praise from Pitchfork, Flea Market Funk, Wax Poetics, and more. The new LP broadcasts a more concise, deliberate, and refined sound that combines elements of jazz and golden era hip-hop with today’s electronic music. Ever in search of “the perfect piece”, Pat’s attention to detail is on full display as he is hands-on in every aspect of the music–allowing each perfect piece to fall into place. Here we’re treated to a record that showcases a more mature composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist who’s sound continues to develop, much to the delight of audiences worldwide. On Falls To Pieces, Pat enlists a short list of collaborators for their improvised efforts on a handful of the album’s tracks–including the talented Zac Colwell, Eric “Benny” Bloom, Sam Barsh, Jesse Fischer, Juan Rodriguez, and Stolarz. Forever a fan and student of music’s rich history, Pat Van Dyke aims to create an album you’ll enjoy from start to finish, like so many of the records that continue to shape his own musical vision. Carve out some time, press play, and step into a world.   Side A: Falls To Pieces | A Rising Tide | The Shadows | Vibrate Higher Side B: Slow Simmer | Shine | A Faded Dream | Say It Again
