Odin’s Balls | Sumatra Coffee

Sumatra · Medium/Dark Roast · Single Origin "Fuel for the everyday warrior. Forged in fire, kissed by Odin, and strong enough to make Thor say, 'DAMN, that's bold.'" ⚠ WARNING: MAY CAUSE... Spontaneous, earth-shaking battle cries in quiet coffee shops. A frantic desire to wrestle a Midgard Serpent before your second cup. Accidentally speaking in ancient runes to your coworkers. The overwhelming urge to turn your car upside down and live in it like a longhouse. Pairs Well With: Sharp axes, questionable life choices, and the kind of savage victories that get written into sagas. The Saga The All-Father Needs His Ravens Look, being the All-Father is a logistical nightmare. Between project-managing the Einherjar as they slay each other for sport and keeping an eye on the Nine Realms, Odin is a man on the edge. He projects his entire consciousness into the world through his two ravens, Huginn (Thought) and Muninn (Memory). Every dawn, he sends them out to spy on the gossip of gods and giants. By breakfast, they return to whisper those secrets into his ears. But Odin has an obsessive, high-stakes fear, he's terrified that Thought won't come back, and even more anxious that Memory will fail him. If the ravens go dark during the Fimbulwinter, the All-Father loses his mind. Literally. Enter Odin's Balls. This Sumatran single-origin is the "Divine Echo" that slams Thought and Memory back into alignment. It's a status weapon for your brain, designed to keep your ravens airborne and your focus as sharp as the spear Gungnir. Best Served: Black, in a horn, while realizing you're the only person in the longhouse whose eyes are open wide enough to see a Draugr sneaking through the door. Taste Notes The deep, rumbling authority of a god who hasn't slept since the first age, dark chocolate that coats the mouth, dried fruit lurking underneath like a secret only the ravens know, and an earthy finish so long and lingering it feels like the forest floor of Asgard itself. Thought returns. Memory holds. The All-Father is satisfied. The Roast Medium/Dark Roast · Gayo Highlands, Aceh Odin's Balls is a medium/dark roast Sumatran single-origin from the Gayo highlands of Aceh, grown at 1,100 to 1,600 meters by smallholder farmers of the indigenous Gayo people, the same families who have farmed this land for generations. Processed using Giling Basah, the traditional wet-hulling method unique to Sumatra, the beans are hulled while still wet and sun-dried a second time, producing that signature syrupy body, low acidity, and deep earthy complexity you simply cannot find anywhere else on earth. Grade 1 Triple Pick means the beans were hand-sorted three separate times before leaving the co-op. The result is thick, coating, and unapologetically bold. Notes of dark chocolate, dried fruit, and earth with a long, lingering finish that stays with you long after the cup is gone. This is the coffee that doesn't ask if you're ready. It just shows up.
