Once a week is plenty for finer or easily reddened skin. On dry skin or damp skin? On most skin, apply to cleansed skin and massage in circular motions before rinsing with lukewarm water. If your skin reddens easily, dampen it first so the particles glide. What should I use afterwards? Valmont recommends following with a mask. Exfoliating first clears the surface so the mask that follows works on clean skin. Are the particles plastic? No. They are biodegradable cellulose microparticles suspended in a rich cream base. Is it a grainy scrub or an acid exfoliant? A physical scrub. There are no exfoliating acids in the formula, so it fits easily alongside most routines — just not on the same day as another scrub or acid product.
