a face full of flowers, by Samantha Hund

Poetry, chapbook, 36 pages, from Bottlecap Features. a face full of flowers explores detachment, inheritance, and the slow, strange beauty of unraveling. Spanning ten years of work, this collection is divided into three elemental movements—ROOTS, FEVER, BLOOD—that trace the speaker’s descent from quiet disassociation into feral grief, and then toward a mythic reclamation of identity. Through confessional lyricism, violent tenderness, and fairytale logic, Hund’s poetry probes the blurry edge between dream and memory. Like a wound blooming in slow motion, each poem sings for mercy, reaches for connection, and dares you to bear witness. Samantha Hund writes transgressive fiction and confessional poetry that peels back the skin of the soul. Her work appears in Crowstep Journal and is forthcoming from Expat Press. She lives on folklore, tea, and beautifully self-destructive habits.
