Eyelet Punch

Eyelet Punch The eyelet punch—also known as a rampin—is a single-purpose tool designed for pressing eyelets into the sidebars of wooden frames. It’s an essential tool when building frames with 100% beeswax foundation and support wires. Key Features and Benefits Single-purpose efficiency: Designed specifically for pressing eyelets into frame sidebars. Protects wooden frames: Eyelets prevent wires from cutting into the wood when tightened. Perfect for wired foundation: Essential for assembling frames with beeswax foundation and support wires. Easy to use: Seats grommets cleanly into pre-drilled holes for a secure fit. Durable construction: Built to handle repetitive use in frame building. Detailed Description The eyelet punch (or rampin) is used to press metal eyelets—also known as grommets—into the pre-drilled holes in frame sidebars. These eyelets protect the wood from wire tension, ensuring sturdier, longer-lasting frames, especially when using 100% beeswax foundation that requires wire support. To use, simply place an eyelet into the sidebar hole, position the punch over it, and press firmly to seat it in place. Once installed, the eyelets allow frame wires to be tightened without digging into or wearing down the wood. This simple but essential tool makes frame building easier, faster, and more reliable.
