The inseam measures 28". These pants have a relaxed harem-style silhouette with a dropped crotch and generous volume through the hip and thigh that tapers toward the ankle. The flat waist measurement is 14" (28" circumference) and the elastic drawstring waistband allows for additional adjustment. What fabric are these pants made from? These pants are made from 100% cotton double gauze — a breathable, double-layered woven cotton fabric with a soft, slightly textured hand feel. The contrast eyelet panels are cream cotton broderie anglaise-style cutwork fabric. What is double gauze fabric, and why is it special? Double gauze is two layers of loosely woven cotton bonded together, giving it a soft, slightly crinkled texture and exceptional breathability. It's lighter and airier than standard cotton, making it ideal for warm-weather and travel wear. It also softens beautifully with each wash. Are the raw edges and exposed outseam intentional? Yes! The exposed outseam and visible stitch details are intentional design elements of the handcrafted aesthetic — they are part of the designed finish, not a construction defect. Does the waistband stretch? Yes. The waistband is elasticized and finished with a drawstring tie, so it provides stretch and can be cinched or loosened to adjust the fit at the waist. Are these pants true to size? These pants are designed with a relaxed, one-size-fits-many approach. The elastic drawstring waistband accommodates a range of waist sizes. We recommend checking the flat waist measurement (14" / 28" circumference) and inseam (28") against your own measurements for the best fit. Are these pants good for travel? Absolutely! The lightweight double gauze fabric packs easily without heavy wrinkling, and the relaxed elastic waistband makes them comfortable for long travel days. They're a popular choice for beach trips, festival weekends, and warm-weather travel. Where does Beach Gypsy ship from? All orders ship directly from our boutique in downtown Berlin, Maryland — just minutes from Ocean City, MD. We carefully pack every order with love and ship promptly. What shoes work best with these pants? The tapered ankle opening pairs well with sandals, low-profile sneakers, or ankle boots. For a boho-casual look, white western-style boots or strappy leather sandals complement the eyelet patchwork detail beautifully. What is broderie anglaise? Broderie anglaise is a traditional embroidery technique featuring cutwork holes and embroidered edges, creating a delicate lace-like pattern. On these pants, it appears as cream-colored contrast panels at the hip and thigh, adding artisan texture and visual interest to the navy charcoal base fabric.
