EXTREMA RATIO BFK ZERO

BFK ZERO is the compact folder in the series. For nearly 30 years, Extrema Ratio has crafted knives for those who demand nothing less than absolute reliability. The ZERO is born from that same hand: milled handle scales for a solid grip, zero-tolerance craftsmanship, and the exact same mechanism as the BFK. Making a knife smaller is easy, you just strip things away. Doing so while retaining every essential element takes deliberate design, and that engineering is what defines the ZERO. The Mechanism   The heart of the ZERO is the same Crossbar Lock system as the BFK, which engages the blade upon opening with zero play. It is ambidextrously operated with one hand, and when closing, it keeps your fingers completely out of the edge’s path. Crisp deployment, controlled closure; the lock settles in with a solid thud, and within a few days, the motion becomes pure muscle memory.   How you will carry it   In your pocket, with the clip. The reversible clip allows for full ambidextrous carry, keeping the knife low-profile on the edge of your pocket. Its proportions do the rest: a jacket’s inner pocket, the coin pocket on your jeans, or any space where a full-sized knife starts to feel too bulky are the natural domain of the ZERO. Extraction remains instantaneous—there is always a spot for the ZERO.   One Steel, Five Personalities   The blade is made from N690 steel, a time-tested balance proven over decades: hardness, toughness, and reliable performance year after year. It’s the right steel for a knife meant for daily work. The handle scales express five distinct characters. Choose the one that suits you best:   BLACK and TACTICAL MUD (Aluminum handle, burnished blade): The essential versions of the range: milled aluminum and a light-absorbing burnished finish. Black in its absolute minimalism; Tactical Mud in the exact same discipline, just with a warmer tone.   GREEN (Carbon fiber handle, stone-washed blade): The exposed carbon weave combines rigidity and lightness, while the stone-washed finish complements its contemporary feel.   AVIO (G10 handle, stone-washed blade): G10 doesn’t absorb water, doesn’t shift in hot or freezing conditions, and won’t change in size or texture over the years, staying identical to day one. The shade is an air-force blue—muted, technical, and derived from aviation as its name suggests.   TOBACCO (Micarta handle, stone-washed blade): Micarta is a material that thrives on use, acquiring depth over time. The warmest tone and character of the five. Details that make the difference     Crossbar Lock: blade lock, one-handed operation, safe closure keeping fingers out of the edge’s path.   Reversible Clip: complete ambidextrous carry, discreet placement on the pocket rim.   N690 Steel: hardness, toughness, year-after-year reliability.   Milled Handle Scales: solid grip, whether hands are dry or wet.     Zoom in on the photos and enjoy the details.     Range Dimensions   The BFK ZERO (167 mm overall length, 68 mm blade) is the compact folder in the series. The BFK offers the same mechanism in a full-sized format for those who want more blade with the exact same motion. On the fixed-blade side, the PIXEL, MICRO, and NANO lineup stems from that very same manufacturing standards. Two mechanics, five sizes, one single standard. When someone asks tomorrow if anyone has a knife, you’ll already be prepared.   And you’ll find out just how often you could have used one.
