Extinguish Plus uses a dual-action formula that combines an adulticide with an insect growth regulator (IGR) for long-term control. What Fire Ant Bait Does This fire ant colony killer works in two ways. Worker ants ingest the bait and are eliminated, reducing activity. At the same time, the insect growth regulator is carried back to the colony and fed to the queen, preventing her from producing new ants.
