Brianna Lance’s intricate paintings unfold like visual riddles, weaving together themes of rebirth, transformation, delicacy, and aggression through a distinctly Femme Surrealist lens. Her work invites viewers into a dreamlike world where symbols—flowers, candles, ripe fruit, and elaborate braids—hold layered meanings, revealing themselves gradually over time. Each composition is meticulously detailed, offering a rich interplay of softness and intensity, fragility and power. Lance’s imagery pulses with quiet urgency, capturing the tension between control and surrender, the fleeting and the eternal. Her surreal narratives do not present a single truth but rather open-ended experiences, where meaning shifts with each viewing. In this way, her paintings become more than just visual objects—they are immersive, unfolding stories, waiting to be unraveled.
