Explore Scientific Sidara Plus 150 — 150mm Reflector Telescope with Alt-Az Mount

Owners of 80–100mm telescopes eventually hit the aperture wall — the Veil Nebula remains invisible, globular clusters stay unresolved, and galaxies beyond the Messier catalog are just faint smudges. The Explore Scientific Sidara Plus 150 breaks through that barrier with 150mm of Newtonian aperture on the Plus alt-az mount, delivering the light-gathering power that makes deep-sky observing genuinely rewarding while keeping the entire system portable enough for regular use. At f/5.0, the optical system produces bright, wide fields ideal for extended nebulae and open clusters. The 750mm focal length provides enough magnification to reveal detail in Saturn’s ring system, Jupiter’s cloud bands, and surface features on the Moon that smaller scopes blur over. The Plus mount — a sturdier platform than the Nano or Essential tiers — provides smooth slow-motion tracking with noticeably reduced vibration at higher magnifications, making it practical to push the 150mm aperture to its full potential. SkyAssist smartphone navigation guides you to targets through the free companion app, turning the learning curve of star-hopping into a guided experience. For observers who want to spend their time actually looking through the eyepiece rather than hunting for objects, this integration changes the equation. Key Features 150mm Newtonian optics at f/5.0 — resolves globular clusters, reveals structure in nebulae, and reaches galaxies beyond the Messier catalog Plus alt-az mount with enhanced slow-motion controls — more stable than entry-level mounts, designed for higher-magnification viewing SkyAssist smartphone navigation for guided object location through the free companion app Solar filter included for safe solar observation Two Plössl eyepieces (25mm and 10mm) for wide-field scanning and detailed planetary views Ideal For Intermediate observers upgrading from a smaller telescope who want serious deep-sky capability without the complexity of a Dobsonian or equatorial mount. The Plus mount’s stability and SkyAssist integration make this an especially strong choice for observers who want to maximize time at the eyepiece. Dark-sky travelers will appreciate the portable form factor — six inches of aperture in a system you can set up in minutes.
