Explore Scientific Sidara Essential 102 — 102mm Refractor Telescope with Alt-Az Mount

A 102mm refractor sits in a productive sweet spot — enough aperture to resolve lunar rilles, split close double stars, and reveal structure in brighter nebulae, all in a sealed tube that never needs collimation. The Explore Scientific Sidara Essential 102 places that 102mm doublet refractor on the stable Essential alt-az mount with SkyAssist smartphone navigation, creating a versatile system equally at home on the Moon, the planets, and open clusters. The 600mm focal length at f/5.9 keeps the optical tube manageable while delivering enough magnification for satisfying planetary detail. The refractor design means zero cool-down time and zero maintenance — just set up and observe. The Essential mount’s dual-axis slow-motion controls hold targets steadily at magnifications where lesser mounts would vibrate, and the included erect-image diagonal makes the system practical for daytime terrestrial viewing as well. Key Features 102mm doublet refractor at f/5.9 — sharp, high-contrast views with no collimation or cool-down time Essential alt-az mount with dual-axis slow-motion controls for precise, stable tracking SkyAssist smartphone navigation guides you to celestial targets through the free companion app 45° erect-image diagonal included — use the system for daytime terrestrial viewing Solar filter included for safe daytime solar observation Two Plössl eyepieces (25mm and 10mm) for wide-field and medium-high magnification Ideal For Visual observers who want a reliable, all-around telescope for both nighttime astronomy and daytime nature viewing. The 102mm aperture provides enough reach for a wide range of targets without the bulk and maintenance of a larger reflector. Families and educators will appreciate the quick setup and SkyAssist guidance — everyone gets to see something interesting within minutes of powering on.
