This concept is present in many cultures around the world, and is often associated with envy or jealousy. The belief in the evil eye has a long history and dates back to many ancient cultures. It is found in various forms in religious traditions, mythology and folklore around the world. For example, ancient Greek and Roman texts reference the idea of the evil eye, and the belief is also present in many cultures in the Middle East, Asia, Africa, and Latin America. The practice of protecting oneself from the evil eye is as old as the belief itself. In many cultures, people use amulets, talismans or rituals to ward off or neutralize the effect of the evil eye. These may include objects such as jewelry, horns, hands made with certain gestures, or other symbols believed to repel negative influence.
