Ever After™ Ruby Reblooming Azalea

Deep red semi-double flowers, the darkest color in the line, on a compact evergreen 2 to 3 feet tall and 3 to 4 feet wide. Rhododendron 'RLH2-2PA1S', sold as Ever After™ Ruby, grows in part sun to part shade, hardy from Zone 6 through Zone 9. The doubling gives the flowers more substance than the singles, and the red holds rather than fading toward pink. Ever After azaleas rebloom, flowering in spring and then again through summer into fall. They stay compact, clean off their spent flowers without deadheading, and hold evergreen foliage through winter. The low spreading habit suits a container, a foundation bed, or the front of a border. Acidic soil is necessary, roughly pH 4.5 to 6.0, with good drainage and steady moisture. Mulch the shallow roots.
