Evening Passage (Open Edition)

The StoryA wide-angle view of the Governor Thomas Johnson Memorial Bridge at sunset, with a vibrant pink and blue sky reflected in the Patuxent River and small boats anchored in the foreground. The LocationThe Governor Thomas Johnson Memorial Bridge spans the Patuxent River at Solomons Island, connecting Calvert and St. Mary's counties. For locals, it's more than infrastructure — it's a daily landmark, the threshold between home and away, framed by some of the most dramatic skies on the western shore. Artist's Perspective"The Solomons bridge at sunset is a scene every local knows, but capturing it with the right sky is a matter of patience and luck. The pilings and anchored boats in the foreground give it depth — without them, it's just a bridge and a sky." — Ryan Lott Curator's RecommendationThe horizontal orientation (landscape cut) makes this piece well-suited for living rooms, offices, and above fireplaces.
