Eucalyptus Mint Fragrance

Eucalyptus Mint Fragrance Cool. Uplifting. Fresh Air. Shay and Company is proud to present a small selection of clean and non-toxic fragrances for soap, candles and skincare. All our fragrances are suitable for natural skincare products, cold process soap making, bath bombs, tarts, body care products, and candle making. We understand the value of having non-toxic fragrance options other than essential oils, so we have worked hard to create a line of high-quality, cleanly-made, natural fragrances for candles, soaps, and other products for our customers. Please see our Ethical Fragrance Page for more information about our clean beauty fragrance standards. Note on fragrance names- There is no regulation on fragrance names with the FDA, and fragrance names do not represent any specific ingredient like essential oils do. You can call any fragrance whatever name you want to call it, so get imaginative with your fragrance names! All our fragrances are designed to be used in soaps, candles, skincare and haircare. Eucalyptus Mint Fragrance oil is more than just pure eucalyptus. This is like breathing in that first winter frost air, where it is cool and crisp, and you can also still smell the pine trees and dew in the air. The menthol hits you first, then is followed up by the soft florals and rounded out with oakmoss. An absolutely delicious aroma. Eucalyptus Mint Fragrance oil would be divine in any hair care product, shower steamers, foot scrubs, foot butters, stimulating body lotion, sugar scrubs, candles, wax melts, cuticle creams or oils. There is a difference in smell between 100% pure Eucalyptus Essential Oil and Eucalyptus Mint Fragrance Oil. The fragrance oil is not as strong as the pure essential oil when it comes to the actual eucalyptus aroma. If you’re looking for pure eucalyptus, or the essential oil, please purchase that one. The Eucalyptus Mint Fragrance Oil is a luxurious blend of cooling mints and light florals. It is a fantastic blend for candles when you want a mint note in your candles. It also translates very well into soap bars. Soap maker notes: Works beautifully; no acceleration. Blends well with:  Rosemary, Lavandin, Eucalyptus, Spearmint, Peppermint Supreme, Lemongrass, Litsea, Rose Absolute, Cedar; for fragrance blends try blending with Mt Hood to create a Snowy Winter; blend with Ultimate Beach Getaway to create Beach Eucalyptus or Driftwood; Chocolate Fragrance to create Peppermint Patty; Hinoki Woods for Woodsy Spa. IFRA attached for usage guidelines. Is Eucalyptus Mint Fragrance Prop 65 Compliant? This product does not contain any Proposition 65 chemicals Is Eucalyptus Mint Fragrance all natural? No, Eucalyptus Fragrance is less than 51% Naturally Derived- this means that these are a blend of natural and synthetic ingredients, but the natural is less than 51% of the formula. Some scents just cannot be created using natural ingredients. These are still very good ingredients; they just aren’t from nature. Do you have an all natural Eucalyptus? Yes, we carry Eucalyptus Essential Oil, a 100% pure, natural essential oil. What does it mean that this fragrance is not all natural? Fragrances are a blend of different ingredients to create a smell. Not all of these ingredients are found in nature, but that doesn’t mean they are necessarily harmful. If you are specifically looking for just 100% natural fragrances, we have an excellent list for you here. But sometimes all natural fragrances are the scent profile you are looking for, or they are more expensive than you want to pay. Natural is more expensive, not necessarily just because the ingredients cost more but because the scientific expertise behind making an all-natural fragrance work well takes years of experience, and that costs. Of the fragrances that we carry that are not listed as all-natural, they all still have the same qualifications: Phthalate free Paraben free BHT free Free of formaldehyde or formaldehyde releasing agents Free from endocrine disrupting agents No animal by-products DEP free Mutagen free Cruelty free Carcinogen free Reproductive toxin free Free from CMR’s No lilial No lyral IFRA Compliant Prop 65 Compliant Clean Fragrances Skin Safe Fragrances Candle Safe Fragrances No nitro musks Are there Endocrine disrupting properties in this fragrance?  At Shay and Company we strive to provide the highest quality ingredients and we are very particular about our fragrances. Eucalyptus Fragrance does not contain an endocrine disruptor (ED) in a concentration of ≥ 0.1%. Why is the Eucalyptus Fragrance oil from Shay and Company more than Eucalyptus from other companies? You will find other Eucalyptus Fragrances out there that are sold for less, however, they will not qualify for clean products as they will contain ingredients BHT or phthalates. We specifically have our fragrances created so you can feel safe using them. Adding harmful chemicals makes them cheaper, but cheaper is not always better. What kind of products can I use Eucalyptus Fragrance in? You can use Eucalyptus Fragrance in anything except lip care products. Think melt-and-pour soaps, shampoos, conditioners (both liquid and bar forms), body creams, clean beauty products, cuticle butters, scalp treatments, body wash, lotion, facial serums (go light on all face care products!), spa collections, body scrubs, candles, wax melts, room sprays, household cleaning products, laundry, hotel lines, you name it! How much of this fragrance should I use in my products?   Suggested Levels of Usage Candles 6-10% Wax Melts 6-10% Cold Process Soap 3-6% Body Lotions and Creams 1-4% Facial Lotions and Serums 0.5-1% Body Wash 1-4% Linen and Room Sprays 10-60% (60% is perfume grade) Shampoos and Conditioners 1-4% Lip Care not allowed What does Eucalyptus Mint Fragrance smell like? Eucalyptus Mint is a blend of mints (eucalyptus, menthol, peppermint), with soft floral notes of lilac and rose. This is not a 100% pure mint, this is like the dream state after a massage when you have the steamed mint warm towel laying on you. Is this the Eucalyptus Mint from Cierra Soaps? Yes! Cierra transferred this scent profile over to us. We cleaned it up to meet our standards and now you have a fantastic, clean version of Eucalyptus Mint! Is this fragrance a “masculine” fragrance? Eucalyptus Mint Fragrance is one I think everyone will love, unless of course they don’t like mint. In my world those are the same people who don’t like chocolate. Who doesn’t love mint?!??!?! Is Eucalyptus a strong fragrance? Yes, meaning you definitely smell the eucalyptus and the mint and it performs perfectly in soaps and candles. Fragrance FAQ’s What is the difference between an essential oil and a fragrance? Fragrances are re-creations of scents, they are not single note essential oils. This means that our perfumist has gathered together natural ingredients to re-create a smell, such as “Sea Shore” or “Tobacco Bay”. These are not “natural” plant smells that you can find in nature; these are scent profiles that have been created through the blending of different ingredients. All fragrances sold by Shay and Company are clean; they do not contain any phthalates or parabens; they are designed specifically to be used in soap, candles and skincare. We have transparent fragrance standards, just like with all our ingredients. Essential Oils are either single note plant extracts or are a blend of single note plant extracts. These are 100% natural and will vary with each batch as they are directly derived from plants. Are synthetic ingredients bad for you? There has been a lot of mis-information and slanted advertising over synthetic ingredients in fragrances. Yes, there are many, many, many ingredients that are very harmful and should not be used. Yes, from the 70’s to the early 2000’s “fragrances” were dirty products that rampantly contained many of these harmful ingredients. Since the early 2000’s the fragrance industry has been forced to grow up and start sourcing cleaner ingredients. These ingredients are still synthetic, meaning they were created in a lab, but they are not necessarily harmful. If your definition of harmful is anything that doesn’t come from a plant, then fragrances are not something you should use. In that case, check out our extensive list of essential oils. Our all natural, naturally derived, and less than 51% natural fragrance never contain any of the industry standard harmful chemicals. None of our fragrances contain phthalates or parabens. None contain any animal by-products. None contain any of the toxic ingredients. If a fragrance isn’t 100% natural, what else is in there that isn’t natural? Fragrances are created using a blend of various synthetic chemicals and naturally derived chemicals to create a smell. Solvents are always used (every single fragrance has a solvent in it, that is how it stays liquid and usable), and some of those solvents can be derived from natural ingredients and some cannot. That doesn’t make them “harmful”, it just makes them not plant derived. We have worked closely with our perfumer to create fragrances using either 100% naturally derived ingredients, or mostly naturally derived ingredients. Sometimes, in order to get a fragrance to work in a candle, soap and skincare, it just can’t have the naturally derived ingredients. Do naturally derived fragrances always work in soap? Not always, but usually. A lot also depends on how and when you add in the fragrance to your soap. If you’re struggling with a natural/naturally derived fragrance in your cold or hot process soap, trying creating a kaolin clay slurry and blending the fragrance in with that. Why do fragrances turn products colors? There are many reasons. The most common is the use of vanillan in fragrances. Vanillan is the culprit for most browning in products. The higher the percentage of vanillan, the darker the color. Some oils are naturally darker in color and this can affect your finished product. Others have naturally derived ingredients that turn colors, such as our Blueberry Thyme Fragrance. Can I get an ingredient deck for my fragrance? Generally, no. Fragrances are considered “proprietary” and they are just referred to as fragrance. You do get some of a list on the SDS in the composition section, but this doesn’t comprise the ingredient list. You also get any EU Allergens which also do have to be listed on your labels. United States: Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act (MoCRA) The Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act (MoCRA)  Enacted in December 2022, marks a substantial update to U.S. cosmetic regulations. Key points include:Allure Ingredient Disclosure: Cosmetic products must list ingredients in descending order of predominance. Fragrance components can be collectively listed as “fragrance,” but this is changing.Legal Information Institute Allergen Disclosure: MoCRA mandates the disclosure of certain fragrance allergens previously concealed under “fragrance.” Ingredients like limonene, linalool, and citral are now required to be individually listed when present above specific thresholds. Implementation Timeline: The FDA is developing detailed regulations, with full implementation expected by the end of 2025. Can I use non-organic fragrances in my certified organic products? Yes. You only use fragrance in a max of 2% in skincare and haircare applications so this will not affect your certified organic status of the finished product. Can I blend fragrances and essential oils? Yes! Go crazy with your blends and make something that you love! There are no rules to blending eo’s and fragrances so get creative. Are our fragrances vegan? Yes. Are our fragrances cruelty free? Yes. Are out fragrances phthalate and paraben free? Yes. All our products are. What are endocrine disruptors and are they in our fragrances? Endocrine disruptors are synthetic ingredients that can affect the function of your hormones. They are often used in cheaper, all synthetic fragrances. Our fragrances are designed to not have any endocrine disruptors in them. Why are some fragrances more expensive than others? Naturally derived ingredients are always going to be more expensive than their synthetic counterparts, so creating natural fragrances often means they are more expensive. Not always, but usually. Also incorporating higher levels of essential oils means a more expensive product as EO’s can be very expensive. Vetiver is a great example of an EO that is often used in fragrances. Vetiver can be very expensive so a fragrance that uses a lot will be on the higher end. Also, our fragrances have less solvent and more concentrate so that also makes them more expensive. What is the shelf life of a fragrance oil? Fragrances and essential oils can last forever. I have essential oils that I’ve had for literally 15 years and they are still great. We put a shelf life on the C of A because we have to, but if you have an old fragrance, it should still be fine.
