Etsu The Original Japanese Gin

Etsu The Original Japanese Gin is a distinguished expression of artisanal craftsmanship, steeped in tradition and named for the Japanese word "Etsu," meaning "pleasure." This gin is a celebration of the art of gin-making, reflecting a legacy that has been honed over generations. Crafted at the Asahikawa distillery on Japan’s northern island of Hokkaido, Etsu gin is a testament to the meticulous process that defines its exceptional quality. The gin’s character is shaped by its balanced blend of botanicals and the purity of the water sourced from the Taisetsu mountains. This pristine water, known for its clarity and freshness, adds a distinct purity to the gin, enhancing its overall smoothness and elegance. The production of Etsu gin involves a careful maceration of botanicals for 22 hours, allowing their flavors to develop fully before the gin is distilled. This extended maceration period ensures that the botanicals impart their deepest flavors, contributing to the gin’s robust and well-rounded profile. Etsu The Original Japanese Gin features a harmonious blend of traditional and unique botanicals. Juniper berries form the classic backbone of the gin, providing a crisp, piney essence. Liquorice and angelica roots add subtle sweetness and complexity, while coriander seeds introduce a hint of spice. The gin is further distinguished by the inclusion of Japanese yuzu and bitter orange peel, which infuse it with vibrant, zesty citrus notes. The result is a gin that is both fresh and rounded, with a flavor profile that balances the boldness of traditional botanicals with the bright, invigorating notes of Japanese citrus. Etsu gin is versatile and well-suited for a variety of uses, whether enjoyed in classic cocktails or simply paired with a high-quality tonic. Etsu The Original Japanese Gin is more than just a drink; it is an ode to Japanese tradition and craftsmanship. Its balanced flavors and refined character make it an ideal choice for those who appreciate the elegance and depth of a well-crafted gin.
