Chicago Code White LED Exit Sign Steel- UL Listed 90 Minute Battery The ESW's Steel Chicago Exit Signs  feature Energy saving LED AC-only and emergency exit models meet City of Chicago requirements. Rugged steel signs for wall, ceiling or end mount applications. CONSTRUCTION Housing, Cover and Stencil Face: ESW-CHIX Series exits are constructed of heavy duty steel finished in white baked-on powder paint providing scratch and corrosion resistance. EXIT FACE Letter Size: 6" letters with 3/4" stroke on translucent glass panels Directional Indicators: Full length directional arrows to meet City of Chicago visibility requirements. CODE INFORMATION All models are UL Listed and meet NFPA 101 Life Safety Code, NEC, OSHA and City of Chicago codes. Emergency models are UL924 Listed. EMERGENCY OPERATION Upon failure of the normal utility power, a solid-state transfer switch automatically activates the DC incandescent emergency lamps providing uninterrupted operation. Emergency illumination will be supplied for a minimum of 120 minutes on emergency models or 90 minutes on combination (-DEH) models. During emergency operation, the exit battery is protected from severe discharge damage by an automatic low voltage disconnect circuit that discontinues unit operation when battery voltage reaches 87.5% of nominal. When normal utility power is restored, the battery is automatically disconnected from the load and a recharging cycle begins that will return the battery to full capacity within 24 hours.
