The ESU 51830 SwitchPilot V2.0 is a compact stationary accessory decoder that brings digital control to your turnouts, signals, and other layout accessories. A single unit drives four twin-coil (solenoid) accessories plus two independent servo outputs, and it speaks both DCC and Märklin Motorola, so it drops into nearly any digital command system regardless of scale. Looking for more DCC gear? Browse our DCC Accessories, the full ESU lineup, and our DCC Wiring & Connectors. Features Controls four twin-coil (magnetic/solenoid) accessories — turnouts, semaphore and light signals, magnetic uncouplers, or lamps — via eight transistor outputs arranged in four pairs. Two additional servo outputs for slow, prototypical turnout movement or animated semaphore signals. Multi-protocol operation with both DCC and Märklin Motorola (MM) command stations. Up to 1A total output current; powered from the digital track signal or an external DC/AC supply for heavier loads. Flexible output modes (pulse, momentary, permanent, and flashing) set by CV on a programming track or on the main with POM. Short-circuit and overload protected outputs; expandable with the SwitchPilot Extension for frog (heart-piece) polarization. Scale: Multi Scale — works on N, HO, O, and larger digital layouts. It digitally operates up to four twin-coil turnout machines or other magnetic accessories (signals, uncouplers, lamps), plus two servo-driven devices such as slow-motion turnouts or semaphore signals. Will it work with my command system? Yes — it supports both DCC and Märklin Motorola, so it works with virtually any digital command station. It is intended for digital layouts, not purely analog (DC) operation. Do I need a separate power supply? The decoder can draw power from the track signal, but for reliable switching of multiple or heavier accessories an external DC or AC supply is recommended. Can I expand it later? Yes. The optional SwitchPilot Extension module adds relay outputs for frog polarization and other switching tasks.
