Twelve servings is enough for almost two weeks of daily matcha, so you can find your routine, learn what you like, and feel ready to restock without rushing. Bundle pricing. Buying the kit and the 10-pack together costs less than buying them separately. If you were going to add matcha anyway, the bundle is the better deal.   Make Your First Bowl of Matcha Once the bundle arrives, you can make a proper bowl of matcha in under five minutes: Sift one stick (or about two chashaku scoops, 1 to 1.5g) of matcha into your chawan. Add about 2 oz of hot water at 175°F (80°C). Skip boiling water, which makes matcha bitter! Whisk briskly with the chasen in a quick W or M motion until a fine layer of foam forms. Top with another 2 oz. of hot water.  Drink straight from the bowl, or pour from the spout into a cup. Rinse the chasen in warm water (no soap), reshape the tines, and rest it on the holder so it dries in shape. For a matcha latte: whisk a stick of matcha in your chawan with 4 oz of 175°F water, then pour over steamed milk for a hot latte, or over milk and ice for an iced latte. For a quick iced matcha on the go: drop a stick into a water bottle, fill with cold water, cap, and shake.     When You Run Low  Twelve servings will get most people through a couple of weeks. When you're ready to restock: Ceremonial Matcha Tin for daily home brewing. The tin gives you the best per-serving price for the same ceremonial-grade matcha. Ceremonial Matcha Stick Refill Pack if you've gotten attached to the sealed-stick freshness or want to keep some for travel.   FAQ  Is this a good gift? Yes, especially for someone curious about matcha who doesn't already own the tools. The kit covers everything they need to make a proper bowl of matcha or matcha latte, and the 10 sticks give them plenty of matcha to actually settle in.  How many servings of matcha do I get? Twelve total: two 1.5g sticks included with the kit, plus the ten 1.5g sticks in the to-go pack. Do I have to use the sticks at home, or can I take them on the go? Either. The sticks brew beautifully in the chawan with the included tools. They also dissolve cleanly into a water bottle with cold water for matcha on the go. Many people use them both ways. What grade of matcha is included? All twelve sticks are ceremonial-grade Japanese matcha, stone-milled in Japan from leaves grown in Shizuoka and Kagoshima prefectures.
