Ercole Barovier Autunnale bowl Barovier & Toso Italy, ca. 1954 Thick glass bowl internally decorated with gold leaf and a mauve trailed motif 9" l, 7 1/2" w, 3 3/4" h (23, 19, 9.5cm) In the post-war period, few Muranese glass designers have such high acclaim as Ercole Barovier. His design work has been revered and collected since it was originally produced. This bowl, part of a scarcely seen mid-century series, features a mauve colored flora-themed chain motif executed in a spiral manner atop a bed of gold leaf The form itself is essential and presents the decor beautifully.  Excellent condition.  Reference: 20th Century Murano Glass, Heiremans, p. 120 illustrates series.  Shipping is free within the United States.
