Entrust Sigma DS2 Single-Sided ID Card Printer — Duali Smart Card Encoder

The Entrust Sigma DS2 is the next generation of direct-to-card printing — a single-sided ID card printer with the speed for medium- to high-volume issuance and a cloud-first design rated among the most user-friendly issuance systems anywhere. Unbox it, connect it over USB or Ethernet, and you are printing professional photo IDs in minutes, with a smartphone-style setup experience and a Printer Dashboard you can manage from your phone. About the Duali encoder in this configurationThis configuration includes the factory-installed Duali smart card encoder (kit 531292-001), built into the printer. It personalizes both contact chip cards (ISO 7816 — the gold-pad chips you insert) and contactless credentials (ISO 14443 A/B, including MIFARE and MIFARE DESFire), and it is a single-wire encoder: encoding data travels through the printer’s own USB or Ethernet connection, with no separate reader cable to run. That combination — contact plus contactless over one wire — makes it the choice for networked and cloud issuance environments. Choose the HID Omnikey option instead if your credentials are HID iCLASS, Seos, or Prox. Secure by designThe Sigma platform treats the printer as a trusted IoT device: Secure Boot blocks tampered firmware at power-up, a Trusted Platform Module holds the printer’s own TLS certificates, every connection to your issuance software is encrypted, and no cardholder data remains in the printer after the card prints. Add UV fluorescent or luster security ribbons for visible and covert card authentication without extra hardware. Cloud, on-premises, or pay-as-you-printDrive the DS2 with Entrust Adaptive Issuance Instant ID software — available as an additional purchase, on your network or in the cloud, including simultaneous issuance of a physical card and a digital mobile flashpass. Prefer not to buy a software license? Instant ID as a Service ribbons include the cloud software with every ribbon, so you pay only as you print. A standard Windows driver covers third-party badging software. Specialist ID is an authorized Entrust partner — your printer, supplies, and 36-month warranty are fully backed by Entrust.
