About the Identiv encoder in this configurationThis configuration includes the factory-installed Identiv all-in-one smart card encoder (kit 531291-001), built into the printer. It personalizes both contact chip cards (ISO 7816 — the gold-pad chips you insert) and contactless credentials (ISO 14443 A/B and ISO 15693, including MIFARE and MIFARE DESFire EV1/EV2), and works with Entrust and third-party issuance software through its own USB connection to the host PC.
